Federal employees who are ready to apply to retire should use one of the following forms dependent on the retirement system (CSRS or FERS) they are in:
- SF-2801-1 Application for Immediate Retirement (CSRS)
- SF-3107-1 Application for Immediate Retirement (FERS)
Most agencies ask for 6 months notice of your retirement plans, but check with your Personnel Office for agency-specific guidance.
